Pornhub has released a bunch of statistics that best explain which porn was the most-popular in 2017 and the countries that watched them.
The website have released their 5th Annual Year in Review, which displays graphs, figures, statistics (and more) on what porn was the most-popular porn last year.
They revealed that over 28.5 billion visitors checked out porn on the website, which equals 81 million people per day. Wowza.
In total, 4 million porn videos were uploaded to the site, which included 810,00 amateur videos in total.
Sex therapist and director of the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center, Dr. Laurie Betito, said:
“2017 seems to have been the year where women have come forward to express their desires more openly.
“From the “Me too” movement to prominent females the likes of Hillary Clinton and Nikki Haley on the world stage, women are feeling more empowered and they have found their voice. This is a sign of things to come.”
The trending 'things' and topics of 2017 included the popular Netflix show Rick and Morty and believe it or not, fidget spinners. And that's right, you got it, people searched for those following the word 'porn'. Life is strange. The world is strange.
The website also revealed that they saw an increase in searches for Hentai and fans of cheerleaders also caused a massive boost in these searches too.
Dr. Laurie went on to say:
“The world is moving at a pace the likes we have never seen before and as such, stress levels have gone way up.
“Hentai is a way for people to disconnect from reality and delve into the world of total fantasy, forgetting about all the stresses that real life brings.
“Good, bad or indifferent, Hentai is an escape, not much different than seeing a sci-fi movie at a local theater for a couple of hours of mindless distraction.”
For men, the most searched terms were typical and unsurprising - ''milf'', ''stepmom'' and ''mom'' porn. For women, it was ''lesbian'', ''lesbian scissoring'' and ''threesome''.
Dr. Laurie said:
“Lesbians have been the #1 fantasy of men since the beginning of time. For the men that aren’t likely to ever have a threesome with lesbians, this is an ideal way for them to live out their fantasy.
“We can’t ignore women viewers though; for women that have a soft fantasy or curiosity, lesbian porn allows them to explore that part of their sexuality without risk.
“Of course, for bi or lesbian women, this category is an obvious choice.”
Another trend last year, that makes sense this time, was the topic of Harley Quinn - given the success of Suicide Squad.
